I had a conversation today with my coworkers about what to do when you feel like you are stuck in a rut and actually need to get a lot of things done.
I realized looking back that my two biggest productivity hacks are prayer with journaling, and naps.
Most of the time when I am stuck at work, it is because I am either tired (solution: 10 minute power nap), or anxious (solution: prayer and journaling through what is on my mind, also about a 10 minute exercise).
A corollary realization to this was that the biggest and most frequently, evidently answered prayers in the past year had to do with work tasks (code, sales, project management, creative ruts).
God cares about your work, and He knows how to do your job better than you. Asking Him for help is the most reasonable thing one can do.
This isn’t intended as a Jesus-juke to all the other productivity advice out there, but I hope it might encourage you.
Reminds me of something Martin Luther was reported to have said:
“I have so much to do that I shall spend the first three hours in prayer.”
