Sermon: Luke 4:16-30 – Bring Your Nothing

Jesus returns to his hometown synagogue in Nazareth to begin his public ministry, reading from Isaiah about bringing good news to the poor and proclaiming God's favor. Initially welcomed by the crowd, Jesus then makes cryptic references to Old Testament stories that provoke such anger that the people attempt to kill him. The message reveals that Jesus came to offer salvation to the spiritually poor and humble, but has no hope for those seeking worldly pleasure, power, or political prominence.
