I’m Giving Away Two Copies of What’s Best Next by Matt Perman

What's Best Next: How the Gospel Transforms the Way You Get Things DoneSay hello to my new favorite book: What’s Best Next: How the Gospel Transforms the Way You Get Things Done.

Read my review on why I think this book is the one book you should read this year.

I love this book so much, and want to see it flourish so much, that I am going to give away two copies this week. Here’s how to get your hands on one.

1) Enter this wonderful socially viral (eww?) PunchTab contest thingy! All the tweets, likes, +1s, and follows! I will select a winner randomly on Wednesday.

2) I’d like to give a copy to a non-professing-Christian. Matt claims (and John Piper agrees in the forward, and I think as well) that this book can be very very useful to someone even if they aren’t a Christ-follower. I’d like to test that theory. If you are willing to give this book a thorough read, and let me know your thoughts, I’m willing to send you a copy. First come, first serve. Leave a comment below and I’ll be in touch.

Ready set go!

I manage system by…(check odds, check price on WTS), with a hmmanmmman(static). Unfortunately in the past things were a bit more clear cut, but now I need to figure out how to sort things out as life has demanded a bit of sectoring (groan).

Totally plan on it. I think I’ll try to read it over spring break, though I wonder how advisable that is according to the paradigm.

          Very advisable.

I manage with a simple calendar and to-do list on my phone.

I manage my time and tasks with a host of iOS and Mac apps: Calendar, Things, Evernote, and Siri. My system is OK, but I still find some holes in it occasionally.

Right now my calendar is well managed – although sharing between my wife and my calendar is still in the works. Don’t really have much for tasks more than a notepad file with dot points – definitely room for improvement!

    I just a to-do list and a color-coded calendar.

I’m vaguely familiar with GTD but have never fully committed to it. Currently I keep it together with a haphazard combo of Evernote, Wunderlist and a smattering of other apps. I keep feeling like I’m waiting for a system to commit to… maybe this is the one.

I keep posted-it note to-do lists. Probably not very effective.

I keep track of what I have to do with a combination of memory, lists, ical and reminders. It’s worked so far.

I don’t have much of any system to get things done. I keep reminders on my phone for work related tasks. For my personal life, my Wife is indispensable :)

I use a mix and match of systems. I loosely base my system on inbox zero. I also use tools like Evernote to keep track of things, Pocket to save items to read later, etc. Overall, my systems need more cohesion.

I neeeeeeed this book! I’ve read all about urgent and important, paper files and emptying my head… secular methods just don’t seem to cut it – I need God’s power through his gospel to transform my procrastination condition!!

My system is very low tech — hand-written to-do list and calendar. But I do use reminder apps for priority and time-sensitive tasks.
